Using LaunchRock as Your Startup Evolves & Launches

The following is a guest post from Brady Sadler who is using LaunchRock to launch 1band 1brand – Seeking & Connecting Emerging Music & Fashion. Below, Brady explains how his team integrated the LaunchRock widget/API with their existing landing page and offered a range of incentives including free downloads, product samples and SXSW party invites. Make sure to check out the site to see how they’re using the API even after they have launched.

- The LaunchRock Team

We heard about LaunchRock a few weeks ago and decided it was the perfect addition to our existing promotional plan for 1band 1brand. Instead of simply offering early access, we found a way to promote sharing and introduce elements of our platform at the same time.

Our concept is pretty simple, and that’s by design. If you’re like us, you’re juggling a number of different projects and you don’t have the time you once had to wade through the endless supply of bands and brands online. Yet, you still enjoy discovering new music and looking sharp.

1band 1brand is a digital platform that introduces subscribers to one emerging musician and fashion label each week and encourages them to “Hear, Wear & Share.” We do the legwork and serve up a quick introduction along with exclusive offers, including limited time “name your price” music downloads and special discounts or product from brands.

We used the new widget/API to integrate Launch Rock with our existing landing page and served up a mix of incentives to encourage sharing. If you can find at least three of your friends to join you on 1band 1brand, you’ll gain access to a collection of free music downloads and you’ll be entered to win the first edition of our ‘Influencer Kit’ which contains items from a number of the bands and brands we have partnered with. For a limited time we also attached an invite to our official SXSW launch party within the confirmation email.

This combination of a tangible reward, contest entries and SXSW party access offered a little something for everyone to get excited about and helped us drive a number of new sign ups.

If you dig cool music and you like to look good, join us by signing up at http://1band1brand.com and get ready to hear, wear and share!  You’ll notice that we’re continuing to use the LaunchRock widget and incentives for our full site registration even after the launch.

Cool and very timely. We are launching http://unseat.me tomorrow and have plans to keep LaunchRock as part of our promotional platform. It’s too good to let go.

@lael That’s great to hear! How are you doing it? Widget? API?

  3. DroidNoob says:

Coming from cloudgirlfriend.com. Great job what you do. You are creating attention. Any solutions in german language?

  4. lael says:

Jameson, we are still using the hosted version and have moved it from index to invite.unseat.me. Right now we drive visitors who do not yet have an invite code to our LaunchRock page. After the invite code comes off we will likely switch to the widget and use it for ongoing viral marketing

Really dig 1 band 1 brand and the strategy used to get the most out of your LaunchRock page. Inspired me to run a similar strategy so if you’re looking to cash in on an iPad 2, come check out my Launchrock page at http://www.cityfootprints.com.

Thanks for sharing some of your strategies, Brady. I’ve seen a lot of new startups and businesses utilize Launchrock in similar ways, but once in a while I’ll find some that take it to the next level. Check out my startup’s Launchrock page at http://drinkpass.me
