Good execution requires good ideas
Entrepreneur turned Investor, Founder of K9 Ventures, Team & Starting Up Expert
The lore in Silicon Vally is that ideas are a dime a dozen.
If you start with a bad idea, it doesn't matter how good your execution is.
If you start with a kernel of a good idea and execute it poorly, you will still fail.

Step #3 Ideas Matter: Good execution requires good ideas
There is this law around Silicon Valley, at least, that ideas are a dime a dozen and execution is the only thing that matters. I actually disagree with that. If you start with a crappy idea, it doesn't matter how good your execution is, you’re still likely to fail. But if you start with a kernel of a good idea and then you have bad execution, you’re still going to fail. But that kernel of the idea needs to be the right idea before you can actually then execute on it correctly to actually build something that’s valuable.
